The Hungarian National Seismological Network

Network DOI: 10.14470/UH028726

The main objective of the seismological network is the collection of reliable information about the seismic activity in Hungary and its surroundings. In addition, the network also measures seismic waves generated by earthquakes all over the world. The arrival times of these waves are routinely measured and transferred to international seismological centres.

The current permanent seismological network consists of 15 stations equipped with broadband sensors (9 Streckeisen STS-2/STS-2.5 and 6 Güralp CMG-3T). All stations are connected to the internet, allowing real-time data acquisition. Data are recorded continuously.
